Grand-Opening of Loopkicks Blogs and Updates by JayR deGuzman

Okay, so here is the first blog by me as an attempt to get involved with the community. It should also help with documenting with what we do throughout the years that Loopkicks lives on. (this should have been started a long time ago haha >_>)

Anyways, first thing to do is introduce myself and describe Loopkicks. My name is JayR deGuzman, I'm a member of Team-Loopkicks. Loopkicks is a Martial Arts Tricking/Demonstration team that formed back in the 90's. The original members of the team were students from Ernie Reyes' West Coast Tae Kwon Do Schools. Today's members include...

From Left To Right Bottom to Top:
Khang Vu, Mackenzie Emory, Jerico Catura
Scott Wu, Hans Wikkeling, Neil Tan
JayR deguzman, Justin Runes, Deangelo Harding
Daniel Nguyen, Jarmin Runes, Aaron Sandman
Utahna Baxter, Bubba Crispell, Ryan Jandu
Michael Marcelino, Sesshoumaru, Anthony Gooch
Samantha Smyth, Gary Ip, Joe Gacayan
Michelle Vaquilar, Marques Mallare, Peter Miller
Anis Cheurfa, Jeremy Marinas, Chris Balualua
Hoai Le, Chris De Vera, Isiah Flores

If you have no idea what tricking is, it's easier to show than to explain so watch the video below.

I would say Loopkicks' main goal is to promote the art of tricking into the world because there is a whole community of us but not everyone knows we exist. We also teach tricks through seminars and privates, but most importantly, through our camp that we host every summer.

Loopkicks Camp is a week long camp that loopkicks hosts every summer in San Jose, CA to gather trickers, new or experienced, from all over the world to teach them what it is that Loopkicks has learned from their past years of training. The camp doesn't only offer tricking lessons, but activities, games, food, hotel, merchandise, and much more! If you're interested in coming to camp then e-mail Loopkicks@hotmail.com or check out www.teamloopkicks.com to register!

To wrap things up for now, last but definately not least, is our night show after Loopkicks Camp. As usual, Loopkicks throws a night show after every camp in the gym that all the campers are trained at to show the public what it is that loopkicks camp is all about. However, this year we are collaborating with AMAPA, a Sport Karate Tournament League, and San Jose, CA's HeadHunters Bboy crew to bring to you what we call "Project-Soul". Project-Soul is the name of our night show that is the combination of Sport Karate, Bboying, and Tricking. The Schedule of the day goes like this...

8:00am - 2:00pm = Amapa Finals Sport Karate Tournament
2:00pm - 8:00pm = Art of War Bboy Jam
8:00pm - Finish = Project-Soul Night Show

So, instead of just featuring tricking like we usually do at our night shows, this year we'll be featuring sport karate competition, and bboy battles, along with guest performances such as Ernie-Reyes West Coast Actiion Team, Alora, ILL-Literacy's Dahlak Braithewaite, and more!

What is gonna make this show so big though is the fact that CARTOON NETWORK will be there to film and broadcast this show nationally. Below is listed more details about the Project-Soul Nightshow and if you need to I'll also post some flyers. Help spread the word because this is definately gonna be a night you don't want to miss out! =D
